Meet Dr. Hardell
Robert T. Hardell, Jr., DMD
Dr. ‘Rob’ Hardell grew up in Oconee County; his parents, Robert and Anne Hardell, still live there. His dad, currently a banker with Synovus, attended Clarke Central High. Dr. Hardell's great grandparents owned Talmadge Brothers Wholesale Grocers in downtown Athens.
Dr. Hardell always looked forward to his appointments with his dentist and dental hygienist who took care of him throughout his entire childhood. Drawn to the science of dental health, the chance to make lasting relationships with patients, and the opportunity to work with his hands, he was inspired to pursue his education and career as a dentist.
Dr. Hardell graduated summa cum laude from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in Biological Engineering in 2018. While at UGA, he had the honor of serving as the mascot (Hairy Dawg) from 2015-2018. Following his undergraduate studies, Dr. Hardell earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree at the University of Kentucky in 2022, graduating with the highest honors. Dr. Hardell practiced with a dental group in Nashville for two years prior to joining the Winterville Dental Team in 2024.
Excited to bring the latest that dentistry has to offer to his valued patients, Dr. Hardell regularly participates in advanced training in dental implant restorations, cosmetic dentistry, TMJ and obstructive sleep disorders, endodontics (root canals), clear aligners and dental health research. He is a certified Invisalign® dentist and an active member of the American Dental Association® and the Georgia Dental Association.
Outside interests for Dr. Hardell include live music and attending concerts, cooking, pickleball, golf, and anything Georgia sports related. He is an active member of his church.
Dr. Hardell and his fiancée Sarah will be newlyweds in 2024. Sarah is from Nashville. She attended the University of Alabama where she majored in Dance and went on to receive her doctorate in Physical Therapy at Sacred Heart University in Connecticut. Dr. Hardell and Sarah are looking forward to establishing their home in the Athens community.
